FROM THE FIELD: ELDOR DRILLING PROGRAM PHOTOS

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
Commerce Resources Corp. (TSXv: CCE) (FSE: D7H), one of Zimtu’s core holdings, recently announced the commencement of drilling at the Eldor Tantalum-Niobium and Rare Earth Element Project located in northern Quebec.  It is a busy summer for Commerce with exploration and drilling ongoing on all three of the company’s projects: Blue River and Carbo in British Columbia and Eldor in Quebec.

Darren Smith, Eldor Project Geologist recently sent the following set of photos from the field.  Enjoy!

ELK CREEK PROJECT, NEBRASKA

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Last week, Zimtu Capital Corp. announced the successful completion of the acquisition stage of the Elk Creek Niobium-Rare Earth Project in Nebraska and a transaction with Quantum Rare Earth Developments Corp (TSXv:QRE) (FSE:BR3).

Elk Creek is a significant transaction for our company and shareholders.  Last week, just before the transaction was announced one of the parties involved explained that the acquisition of the project “reads like a plot for an Indiana Jones movie.”

The Elk Creek acquisition began in August of 2009; when Zimtu along with several partners decided to pool capital and talents together to acquire the project which was described by the US Geological Survey as having the “potential to be one of the largest global resources of niobium and rare earth elements.”

For the unfamiliar, niobium is primarily used as an alloy for the production of harder and greater load-bearing steel.  It is used, for example, in the manufacture of bridges, buildings, oil and gas pipelines, and car frames.  Rare earth elements, on the other hand, are used in the production of a number of modern devices from cell phones and laptops to hybrid cars and flat screen televisions.

The project was previously explored by Molycorp, Inc. in the 1970s and 80s and is host to a historic resource (non 43-101 compliant) of 39 MT of 0.82% Niobium (Nb2O5).  For comparison, North America’s only niobium mine, IAMGold’s Niobec has proven and probable reserves of 32 MT of 0.56% Nb2O5.  For more information read the News Release dated May 4, 2010.

What made the acquisition of the project so interesting was that over thirty separate landowners from the community of Elk Creek had to execute lease agreements and that each agreement was dependent on another.

After many twists and turns, nine months, several competitors and many trips to Nebraska later, the acquisition was complete.  The project took significant focus and effort from our team and partners; many new friendships and relationships were built in Nebraska, Elk Creek, North America, and Europe.

Shortly after the announcement was made the story was picked up on the cover of the largest newspaper in the State of Nebraska the Omaha World-Herald.  A link to the story “High-tech Buried Treasure” is included below:

The Elk Creek Project and our ownership in Quantum represent a significant source of value for our shareholders.  The acquisition of the project was a great experience; many contributed to its success and strong friendships and relationships were created.  As they say “nothing good comes easy.”  With the acquisition complete, we look forward to the exploration and development of the project.

Sincerely,

rf1

BLUE RIVER AND BOB MORIARTY - COMMERCE RESOURCES

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

An exciting part of our job is spending time in the field.

In July I had the pleasure of travelling with Bob Moriarty founder of 321Gold.com and Chris Grove, Corporate Communications for Commerce Resources to the company’s Blue River Project in British Columbia, Canada.

It was the first opportunity that I have had to travel with Bob and was a very interesting and memorable trip.  Bob has travelled the world visiting and evaluating mineral properties and had a wealth of stories and information regarding mineral exploration, public company management, and investments.

In 2001, convinced that gold and silver were at a bottom, Bob and his wife Barbara started 321Gold.com; one of the first websites devoted to teaching readers what they need to know about investing in resource stocks.  Bob and Barb now operate two resource sites, 321Gold.com and 321Energy.com, which are visited by approximately 100,000 people a day.

Bob is also an accomplished pilot.  Believe it or not he is one of only a few people who have flown under the Eiffel Tower and made it out alive!  Need proof…have a look at:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_txdqnVP3-c

Our long-term shareholders are quite familiar with Commerce Resources.  It was the first company that we created and our shareholders received “free” shares when it was spun-out from Zimtu.  The company is also a core holding within our investment portfolio.

Commerce is currently moving its Blue River Tantalum-Niobium Project through the development process towards permitting and production.

What are tantalum and niobium? While many have not heard of them before these rare metals play important roles in our everyday life.  Tantalum is primarily used by the electronics industry for the production of capacitors that find their way into cell phones, laptops, digital cameras, airbags, and other devices.  Niobium, on the other hand, is primarily used as an alloy for the production of harder and greater load-bearing steel.  It is used, for example, in the manufacture of bridges, buildings, and oil and gas pipelines.

Our project tour was led by Rod Tyson, Project Geologist.  Rod took us to visit the metallurgical bulk sample pits at the Upper Fir Zone as well as outcrop at the Hodgie Zone.  We also got to peak at some fresh core samples from ongoing drilling and met with some of the crew.
