PDAC… four letters I have heard so many times… and finally it was my time to experience it.
From March 7 to March 10, 2010 the world’s biggest mining and mineral exploration conference, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada International Convention, took place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Having attended another convention in Frankfurt – which was great as well – I missed most of the first day. Sunday afternoon when I first set foot into those famous halls I was blown away: rows and rows of mining and exploration companies.

After I got over my initial shock (and after having found our booth), I was ready to experience what I had only heard about before: swarms of investors, fund managers and shareholders. Four days later, 21,600 visitors had entered the holy halls of mineral exploration and mining. And yes, more than a few of them stopped by our booth as well to receive the information they were seeking and more. In my opinion, the whole team was successful in answering questions regarding Zimtu Capital Corp. and our core holdings such as Commerce Resources Corp. and Western Potash Corp.

What I was personally most nervous and excited about was certainly the second annual Accessing European Capital event hosted by Zimtu which took place on Monday, March 8th. I had devoted most of my time in the last little while to the organization of the event; being the contact person for our German-speaking shareholders my heart was fully set on the success of the event. Fortunately, I wasn’t disappointed. The event was well attended – thanks to all the Europeans for being on time.
Following an introduction by Sven Olsson, Director of Zimtu Capital, we had an informative discussion between our panel consisting of four experts from the North American as well as European side and the audience. At this point, I would again love to thank Bob Rose of D & D Securities, Christoph Bruening of Value Relations, Joe Brunner of IRW Press and Wolfgang Seybold of AXINO for their participation and valuable input. Those discussions were certainly carried on into the networking portion of our event where German-style food and beverages (yes, the famous-infamous German beer again) were served. The whole Zimtu team was able to make valuable introductions in a more relaxed atmosphere. I think overall some important questions about listing and maintaining a presence in the European market were answered. The key word is and remains commitment.

Altogether, the four days just flew by and I finally know what everybody meant by saying that I would be more tired than I had ever been. Yes, I am very tired but I also couldn’t be happier. Everything went extremely well from working at the booth to hosting the Accessing European Capital event. However, more important than that, I was part of a great team experience. PDAC is the only convention where most of our team is together. Ultimately, this is what our success is based on, teamwork.
Sincerely,

Tamara Faust
